The Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) established the annual Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong in 1988 to publicly recognize outstanding young industrialists aged between 21 and 45 who have achieved significant accomplishments in their respective fields.

The 2022 Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong (“YIAH”) and the Industrialist of the Year (“IOY”) Award Presentation Ceremony was held on November 3, 2022, at the Conference Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Mr. Nicholas Lai,  General Manager (Southern China) of Pro-Technic Machinery Group, was honored with the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong.

The award was presented by Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR.

Under Mr. Nicholas Lai’s leadership, Pro-Technic has achieved notable growth in automation and smart manufacturing, actively advancing industrial development in intelligent automation. In the fields of Industry 4.0 and IoT, he led the development of PTApp, Pro-Technic’s internal management mobile application.

During the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Lai also played a key role in the R&D, production, and installation of automated mask production lines—helping to ease Hong Kong’s urgent demand for face masks and fulfilling the company’s social responsibility. Beyond his contributions to the industry, Mr. Lai is also actively involved in community service.
