Product Promotion │ Japan “STAR” Swiss-Type CNC Automatic Lathe SR-20RIV Type E

1. Equipped with an Automatic B-Axis Unit to Meet a Wide Range of Machining Requirements

The machine can accommodate up to 41 tools across 27 tool positions. Its flexible tool configuration enables a wide variety of complex machining operations.

To achieve the goal of creating a machine that satisfies an even broader range of users, the SR-20RIV Series has been further enhanced. Building on the highly acclaimed software and hardware platform, the new Type E model has been introduced.

Machine configuration:

• Main spindle

• Sub-spindle

• Gang-type tool post with a B-axis-controlled live tool unit

• Dedicated rear-side 8-axis unit with Y-axis control

2. Machine Design Focused on Rigidity, Functionality, and Precision

High-rigidity tool post

Uniformly loaded crossed roller guide structure

Note: As illustrated in Figures ①, ②, and ③, even when the X and Y axes are in motion, the guide bushing remains within the guide bearing arrangement, ensuring that the torque load is always evenly distributed across the eight bearing surfaces, thereby maintaining machining rigidity.

3. Comprehensive Functional Capabilities

The machine is equipped with an automatic B-axis machining unit capable of simultaneous four-axis control. Complex machining operations, including free-angle programming and 3D milling, can be achieved through CNC programming.

Rigidity of the rotary three-axis opposed-type unit

  • The main spindle and sub-spindle are equipped with built-in motors of identical output power, providing equivalent machining capabilities on both the front and rear sides while also delivering high-precision indexing performance.

  • The two interchangeable tool positions on the front tool post can accommodate various live tool units, including whirling units and polygon machining units. Different tool configurations can be selected according to specific machining requirements.

  • The dedicated rear-side tool post with Y2-axis control (8-axis unit) allows live tool units to be installed at all positions. A wide range of rotary tools, including those for cross drilling and slot milling, can be utilized to expand rear-side machining capabilities.
