STAR (Japan) Swiss-Type CNC Automatic Lathe SP-32

To meet the demand for “essential and sufficient complex machining capabilities” in large-diameter applications, the latest SP-32 model has been developed with a stronger focus on user needs.

Optimized Design for Precision, Functionality, and Productivity
Enhanced Machining Capability
The front tool post adopts a gantry-type gang tool post design, maximizing tool capacity within an optimal machine footprint.
With flexible tooling configurations, the machine can efficiently meet diverse complex machining requirements.
Front Tool Post Configuration
- Gang tool holder: 6 tools (16 mm)
- Sleeve holder: 5-axis type (Φ32 mm × 2, Φ22 mm × 3)
- Interchangeable cross drilling unit: 6-axis type (cross-only: ER16 × 2)

Back Tool Post
- The rear tool post can accommodate up to 4 live tools, supporting a wide range of back-side complex machining operations
- With an upgraded sub-spindle torque specification, drilling capacity is increased to Φ14 mm (standard: Φ13 mm)
- The dedicated 5-axis rear tool post ensures optimized tool spacing, considering interference between adjacent tools

High Precision Performance
- Both main spindle and sub-spindle are equipped with C-axis control and built-in sensors for high-precision indexing
- Oil mist cooling is applied to the rotary tool gearbox on the front tool post to suppress excessive heat generation
- Temperature sensors throughout the machine enable accurate and responsive thermal displacement compensation
Enhanced Expandability
- Both main and sub-spindles offer optional high-torque specifications, expanding capability for large-diameter workpieces
- The main spindle features a guide bushing / non-guide bushing (G.B. / N.G.B.) switching function, allowing optimal configuration based on workpiece length
- The rear tool post is available in 4-axis or 5-axis configurations, enabling flexible selection according to machining requirements
